Winning was a good preparation for Test cricket – Rashid

The legspinner also praised UAE’s second-innings effort, where they batted out more than 100 overs, which made the Afghanistan bowlers work hard for the win

Peter Della Penna in Abu Dhabi03-Dec-2017For 24.4 overs, Rashid Khan prowled wicketless back and forth to his bowling mark. There were some scowls and maybe a few growls mixed in too, because for someone who strikes once every 14 balls in T20Is and every 5.3 overs at the worst of times in first-class matches, this was unusually long.A plethora of exuberant and exasperated lbw appeals from Rashid had been turned down, and one started to wonder if UAE’s line-up had tapped into a secret supply of Kryptonite to magically repel Afghanistan’s superhuman spinner. And then suddenly, Rashid zeroed in on his antagonist’s vulnerability. An inside edge off Saqlain Haider’s pads popped into the circus hands of Javed Ahmadi for a juggling catch. It was the kind of chance that, throughout the previous day and a half, would have found a way to pop out, but Ahmadi’s nervy grab was just the slice of fortune Rashid had been searching for. A few overs later, he took three wickets in four balls and Afghanistan’s star leggie was back spinning on his normal axis.”There wasn’t any difference except luck,” Rashid told ESPNcricinfo after bagging five wickets in the second innings of Afghanistan’s ten-wicket Intercontinental Cup win. “I didn’t have enough luck yesterday. I bowled some good, wicket balls but didn’t get wickets on them. That was, you could say, a bad day for me, 20 overs without a wicket.”I just tried my best to bowl in a good-length area. It didn’t matter if I get wickets or not but my main target was to bowl in a good-length area. Today, I was trying the same area and it was lucky for me today to get some wickets.”On a flat pitch that didn’t change much over the course of the three and a half days, Afghanistan were made to sweat in the field. Most teams struggle to bat 100 overs against Afghanistan in two combined innings in an I-Cup match, let alone a single innings. It had been 13 matches since an opponent had done so against Afghanistan, that too by UAE at Sharjah in 2011.Winning had come easy to them in this tournament, with four consecutive innings wins all wrapped up inside three days with two of them in less than two. So to have an opponent show a bit of backbone at the crease was something they were unaccustomed to. And yet, Afghanistan’s focus rarely wavered. Even when Rashid wasn’t taking wickets, he wasn’t bowling half-trackers. His team’s disciplined efforts eventually reaped rewards.Rashid Khan fulfills selfie requests from eager Afghanistan supporters•Peter Della Penna

“It means a lot to us to finish the I-Cup,” Rashid said. “It’s a good preparation for Test cricket for us. We’ll play against some good teams. It was a very challenging two days for us. In upcoming games against big teams, we’ll have days like this and we learned a lot from it.”We are second-time winners of the I-Cup. The guys did a wonderful job in this Cup. We are unbeaten. We worked hard for it. It was a tough challenge to get UAE out twice on a wicket like this. We were trying our best to get them out as early as possible but they played really well and played some good cricket in the second innings.”Taking the last wicket and then when [Ahmadi and Ihsanullah] chased the 19 runs, it was a really proud moment for Afghanistan. It will be the last time playing in the I-Cup so to finish it on a winning note is a really great feeling for us.”The other aspect of Afghanistan’s win that Rashid found satisfying was their consistency despite the scarcity of matches in the tournament. When Afghanistan first joined the Intercontinental Cup in 2009, they played seven matches over 18 months. The following edition was stretched out by an extra 12 months with the same number of matches. On the other hand, Associates have a far steadier diet of limited-overs fixtures to keep themselves busy. For Rashid, the ability to be dialed in – despite the lengthy stretches between four-day matches – is a testament to the side’s preparation.”It’s very tough to play a tournament like this in which you have a gap, you play a match, then you have to play T20s, ODIs, then again come back for this tournament,” Rashid said. “So it’s very tough to keep the consistency and we did really well. From the start, they performed and did well in every match.”Their concentration level was very good. So if you are getting something from a Test nation, you have to be ready for these things. I think the guys switch off, switch on really well in ODIs and T20s and then coming for this format and how to utilise yourself in this cricket. So it feels really good. We had lots of good memories in it and we really enjoyed this.”Rashid ends the tournament with 23 wickets, tied for fifth overall, but they came in just three games. Up until last December, his focus had been entirely on limited-overs formats and only made his I-Cup debut in March against Ireland. He had already taken 12 wickets on first-class debut against England Lions and the way he left Ed Joyce and the rest of the Irish line-up flummoxed showed he had the capacity to be a Test-match prospect. It continues the remarkable surge Rashid has made since his international debut in an ODI in Zimbabwe in October 2015.”It was a really special two years for me from when I started against Zimbabwe in Zimbabwe,” Rashid said. “From there on it’s just keeping on. I just try my best to do the basics right and then see the results. I think the motivation I got from team-mates, senior players, the skippers, they really help me.”Then to come play in big leagues and share the dressing room with them, it really helps me to play under good coaches. So you get a lot of experience from these things and then come to play for the national side. I really enjoyed myself the last two years and really worked hard for it. we will try our best to keep continuing it in the future as well.”

BPL 2017 regulations could hurt local uncapped players

They will constitute only 16% of the total players in the Bangladesh Premier League this season – an all-time low – as a result of the BPL governing council’s decision to allow franchises to field five overseas cricketers in an XI

Local uncapped talent will constitute only 16% of the total players in the Bangladesh Premier League this season – an all-time low – as a result of the BPL governing council’s decision to allow franchises to field five overseas cricketers in an XI.Count of uncapped Bangladesh players in each season

BPL 2012 (5 foreigners): Total 111; local uncapped 26 (23%)

BPL 2013 (5 foreigners): Total 134; local uncapped 35 (26%)

BPL 2015 (4 foreigners): Total 120; local uncapped 24 (20%)

BPL 2016 (4 foreigners): Total 131; local uncapped 31 (23%)
BPL 2017 (5 foreigners): Total 180; local uncapped 29 (16%)

This is a throwback to the regulations used in 2012 and 2013, although back then the BPL was in its infancy still finding its feet as a T20 tournament. And yet, the local uncapped players constituted 26% of the pool in 2013 while the corresponding figure in the inaugural edition in 2012 was 23%. The year 2015 was an aberration: even with only four foreigners in an XI, the uncapped players count was as low as 20%.When announcing the regulation earlier this year, the BPL governing council said it took the decision after consulting the participating franchises. Rajshahi Kings weren’t in favour of the move.Khulna Titans have the largest contingent of Bangladeshi uncapped players – seven – while Sylhet Sixers and Comilla Victorians have only three. Sylhet have signed three uncapped overseas players as well.Dhaka Dynamites coach Khaled Mahmud was unsure if the move would benefit Bangladesh cricket, but he did say there aren’t many players in the country who are explosive enough to play T20 cricket.”I would call it a concern but we also have to realise that we don’t have enough quality,” he said. “We have already lost seven local players [with the axing of Barisal Bulls] but I would still say that finding a place in the team is what the local players need as a challenge. The young players should have competition rather than having a confirmed team. There aren’t many T20 specialists in our pipeline, but at the same time, they need opportunities to be honest.”As a means to address that, BPL secretary Ismail Haider Mallick said: “We are thinking of holding a domestic T20 tournament with only local players, with the Dhaka Premier League (one-day tournament) or the four Bangladesh Cricket League (first-class) teams. So about 48 players will be able to play.”Reactions to these new regulations was divided. Nabil Samad, an experienced domestic performer, felt that “Bangladeshi players got more opportunities with bat and ball when seven local players were around. But this time the scope has become limited for batsmen, especially those in the top-order. Teams usually try to utilise foreign players in those positions”Meanwhile Khulna fast bowler Abu Jayed chose to see the bright side. “BPL is a good platform to enter the national team, because it lets us stay in focus. There isn’t any media coverage in National Cricket League (first-class cricket) and Bangladesh Cricket League. I think we can look at the positive of it. We will be brought into focus if we do well. There aren’t many of us.”

Cummins rest would follow Ashes template

In 2013, Australia played India in an ODI series before a home Ashes encounter – same again in 2017. In 2013, Australia’s coach Darren Lehmann skipped the tour in order to prepare for the England challenge – same again in 2017. In 2013, Mitchell Johnson played a key role as the ODI spearhead before flying home early to prepare for England – Pat Cummins is in that boat in 2017.Further strengthening the case for Cummins to be spared from full duty in India is the fact that both Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc are currently recovering from injury in the hope that they will be fit to take part in a trio of Sheffield Shield matches that prelude the Ashes. Given his high pace and steep bounce, Cummins stands some chance of having the sort of impact Johnson did four years ago, provided he is well looked after. He has bowled 334.5 overs across formats in 2017, playing all four of Australia’s most recent Tests, and the IPL as well.David Saker, the assistant coach responsible for the pacemen who is deputising for Lehmann in India, did not shy away from the prospect of Cummins being rested at some point during the limited-overs series due to begin on September 17.”At this stage we’re planning for him to play all the games,” Saker said. “We’ll look at [resting him], it’s obviously been brought up between all of us. We know that his workloads are up there, but we know it’s an important series. It’s Australia v India, you don’t get any bigger than that. He’s really determined to play well over here. It’ll be game-by-game basis, we’ll play it by ear.”In discussing Hazlewood and Starc, Saker revealed there was uncertainty about exactly when the pair would be ready to play for New South Wales, with the former recuperating from a side strain while the latter is in the final stages of his own recovery from a foot problem that reared its head during the India Tests earlier this year.”We’re hoping they’ll be ready before the first Shield game or second Shield game and that will give them good preparation,” Saker said. “We’ve probably got a bit of a blessing that we’ve got three Shield games before the first Test of the Ashes and it’s probably as good a build-up as you’d want for an Ashes.”So in that sense as long as they’re ready to go by the first Test in Brisbane [on November 23] and ready to play and perform, I’ll be really happy. This time last year, we were in South Africa and it was the same thing, Hazlewood and Starc were rested for that tour. And they got through a really heavy workload in the summer, got through all the Tests. It’s not such a bad thing that they’re not here, as long as they’re ready to go for that first Test in Brisbane.”The bowlers subbing in during the ODI series in India are Nathan Coulter-Nile – himself an unused Ashes squad member in 2013-14 – and Kane Richardson. Other pace bowling options are provided by the allrounders James Faulkner and Marcus Stoinis, who are among the players in contention to occupy the No. 6 spot in the batting order during the Ashes.

Leeds United: Reporter shares exciting thing 49ers are "looking at"

Leeds United have new owners in the form of 49ers Enterprises and they are looking to improve matters not just on the field but away from the cameras at Elland Road, according to journalist Ben Jacobs.

What's the latest news involving 49ers Enterprises and Leeds United?

Leeds United will kick off life in the Sky Bet Championship once again this Sunday where they will take on Cardiff City at Elland Road on Sunday 6th August, which will be Daniel Farke's first competitive match in charge of the Whites, as per Sky Sports.

The German coach has taken a steady approach in the transfer market as the dust finally begins to settle after a period of turbulence at Leeds United and has brought in Ethan Ampadu and Karl Darlow to strengthen his squad, as per Transfermarkt.

Of course, Leeds United are now under the control of 49ers Enterprises, who will be tasked with steering the club forward and new chairman, Paraag Marathe, spoke of his ambitions for the club in an interview with their official website, stating: "This is an important moment for Leeds United and we are already hard at work.

He then added: "This transition is a necessary reset to chart a new course for the Club. We have already appointed a highly-respected First Team Manager with a track record of success, and we are confident Leeds will field a competitive squad to contend for promotion next season. It’s a privilege to carry this torch as I know we have a responsibility to ensure this Club makes our staff, players, supporters, and the Leeds and Yorkshire communities proud."

According to The Daily Mail, 49ers Enterprises have a plan in place to maximise matchday revenue at Elland Road, which currently stands at around £1 million per matchday.

Ideas are being drawn up that would see Leeds United increase the capacity of their home ground to 55,000 spectators, while redevelopment would also bring 'a raft of new corporate hospitality offerings in revamped east and north stands' at a cost of around £200 million.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, journalist Jacobs has detailed that 49ers Enterprises are 'fully invested' in the task at hand of trying to win promotion and also to ensure the club generates maximum income moving forward.

Jacobs stated: “I think that's true. Leeds have ultimately gone down, and that will set the club back.

“But 49ers Enterprises have always been fully invested in the project. And we know, historically, that Elland Road is a big priority. That will help Leeds to move on, modernise and ultimately make more money from the football club.

“49ers Enterprises are not just thinking about this project in terms of the football side. They are also looking at this in terms of how they can bring the club on par with the top teams and the top brands. To do that, as Manchester United are finding, you must consider where you will invest your capital.”

What now for Leeds United?

Leeds United will continue to press on with their recruitment hunt as time continues to tick down in the window as it enters it's final month of business.

According to Football Insider, Leeds United are keen on Joel Piroe this summer; however, Swansea City will hold out for between £15-20 million for the Dutch striker before agreeing to let him depart the Swansea.com Stadium.

Journalist Alan Nixon has confirmed on Patreon that Leeds United have joined West Ham United and Fulham in the hunt for Manchester City defender Taylor Harwood-Bellis, who could cost £15 million to bring to Elland Road.

Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara is expected to leave his current employers and has been earmarked as a target for Leeds United. The Finland international is believed to have a release clause of £5 million, which could well be the fee required to secure his services, as per The Yorkshire Evening Post.

Villa Could Sign "Dream" Duo In Move For £50m "Demon"

Aston Villa have the potential to build something special this summer, with a host of star names being linked with a move to Villa Park.

Unai Emery and Monchi have already added Youri Tielemans and Pau Torres to the squad ahead of the 2023/24 campaign, however with a reported budget of £150m, activity isn’t expected to stop there.

The Villans have been linked to Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix over the past month, with news earlier this week suggesting that the pursuit for the £195k-per-week attacker isn’t over.

A report from Spain – relayed by Sport Witness – named Villa alongside Manchester United and Newcastle as the Premier League representatives to ‘make contact’ with the 23-year-old, who is ‘seduced’ by the English top-tier.

The Midlands club have also been heavily linked to Bayer Leverkusen winger Moussa Diaby, in whom they are reported to have opened the bidding on, with Fabrizio Romano claiming this week that the Villans ‘plan to bid again’.

Valued at £50m by his club, as per reports, it could be a lucrative summer for Emery and Monchi, and the potential to send out a statement to the league should they move closer to claiming the signatures of both talents.

Where could Joao Felix and Moussa Diaby play at Aston Villa?

The Spaniard could unearth a frightening duo in deploying Felix alongside Diaby, with the two players possessing dynamic ability in the final third.

Hailed as a “dream” by U23 scout Antonio Mango, the Portuguese gem could be handed a second shot at life in the Premier League, after an underwhelming loan spell at Chelsea.

Playing in a disjointed Blues side came at an inconvenient time for the Atletico Madrid maestro, as he bids to say farewell to the Spanish giants this summer.

In 16 Premier League appearances for the west Londoners, Felix contributed to four goals after joining the club in January.

While the numbers are less exciting than what was anticipated, the 23-year-old has plenty of talent to show, having already recorded 52 goal contributions in just 131 games for his current side, as well as 31 goals and assists in just 43 games for Benfica.

The versatile forward could be a deadly outlet for Villa, and particularly for fellow target Diaby, who too has impressed in the continent since his rise through the ranks at Paris Saint-Germain.

If given license to roam and express his talents, the Frenchman could be the perfect partner for Felix in attack, as suggested by his 97 goal contributions over four seasons for Leverkusen.

Lauded a “demon” by members of the media, the 24-year-old is a menace in the final third, not just for his goal-scoring ability, but his play-making attributes too, averaging an impressive 1.93 key passes per 90 last term, via FBref.

Such strengths could be the key ingredient to Emery unleashing a dangerous concoction in the Midlands, with the Portuguese gem being a pivotal player to target in play.

As per FBref, the former Chelsea man ranked in the top 2% in the Premier League last season in terms of total shots per 90, averaging a mammoth 4.40 to highlight his threat when given a chance in front of goal.

Combining a target man and a keen creator with an eye for goal could be pivotal in Villa’s expedition up the ranks under Emery, with the signings showing the progression mapped out by the two Spaniards in charge of orchestrating the transfer window.

Wessels' double leaves Sussex reeling

Riki Wessels made an unbeaten 202 to lift Nottinghamshire clear of trouble before three late wickets had Sussex reeling on the first day at Trent Bridge

County Championship Round-up: England hopefuls make their case

Given they were relegated, it might be argued that every Nottinghamshire batsman paid the price for the collective underperformance that defined their 2016 season, yet it was Riki Wessels who found himself carrying the can, dropped for the last four matches after scoring just 489 runs at 25.73, of which 159 came in one innings. After two exceptionally good seasons, across all formats, it came as a painful blow, especially since there were several other experienced hands in Nottinghamshire’s misfiring middle order who might equally have been singled out as the county sought to give younger players the chance to prove their worth. So when, during a pre-season interview, he suggested that it would be folly for Nottinghamshire to trust young players to lead them back into Division One he must have known he would need to produce supporting evidence of a pretty compelling nature. It is to his great credit, then, that as Trent Bridge witnessed Division Two cricket for the first time in 10 years it was Wessels who responded to a familiar crisis with the innings that transformed the day, leaving the dressing room just as 84 for 4 was about to become 88 for 5 and not returning until Nottinghamshire were 447 all out, by which time, unbeaten, he had crafted his maiden double-hundred – at quicker than a run a ball, too.He has only once before come close to such riches in first-class cricket in England and Wales, coincidentally against Sussex, when he was out on 199 at Hove in May 2012. He must have feared he would run out of partners this time but with Stuart Broad making 57, Luke Fletcher 25 – after his extraordinary 92 at Chester-le-Street last week – and Jake Ball 18, he will have several drinks to buy. There was one obvious moment of good fortune, when Harry Finch spilled a fairly routine chance at slip, off the promising young pace bowler, Jofra Archer. Wessels was on 47 at the time, and had that one stuck Nottinghamshire would have been 174 for 7, facing the prospect of making not one batting point, let alone five.Yet that moment apart, this was the Wessels of 2014 and 2015, his footwork and timing increasingly impressive, mixing power with ingenuity as the confidence flowed back.Riki Wessels made a maiden first-class double-hundred•Getty ImagesPoor Sussex, who must struggle to remember when they last had a full complement of fit bowlers. Vernon Philander and Ajmal Shahzad have joined the injured list since last week’s heavy defeat against Kent. Steve Magoffin returned but otherwise they arrived with a hugely inexperienced attack in which Adam Barton, a 21-year-old left-arm seamer who had bowled against Nottinghamshire for Cambridgeshire MCCU last month, was making his Sussex debut.Barton took a mauling, suffering the indignity of being scooped for six twice by the imperious Wessels, although the heaviest toll was inflicted on Stuart Whittingham, another seamer with only a handful of matches, punished to the tune of 43 runs from just 20 deliveries to Wessels, 40 of them in boundaries. In a way, they perfectly illustrated his point about trusting to youth. It was unfortunate for Sussex that Magoffin, the principal architect of Nottinghamshire’s rocky morning session, was unable to bowl more than 18 overs, leaving the field after taking his fifth wicket soon after lunch.Yet even without that setback, Sussex’s decision to leave out David Wiese, their South African Kolpak, seemed a gamble. Archer had his moments, including the wickets of Alex Hales and Jake Libby with the first four balls of his second spell, but took some punches too.Under a heavily cloudy sky and with Nottinghamshire willing to risk preparing competitive pitches, Luke Wright’s decision to forego the coin toss and bowl was the right one, of course. Indeed, the scorecard did nothing but endorse it until Wessels and Broad put on 132 for the eighth wicket.Five wickets for 37-year-old Magoffin, putting all his experience to good use in a textbook display of quality seam bowling, underpinned it beyond argument and at 180 for 7 the only interruption to the dominance of Magoffin had been provided by Hales, whose 45 off 39 balls was also mostly at the two rookies’ expense.Magoffin, the man who denied Wessels on 199 in 2012, has taken five wickets or more on 27 occasions, including six times in his last 11 innings. He took 12 in the match, six in each innings, when he last bowled at Trent Bridge two years ago.Yet he was on the losing side then and it will take a mighty effort from here by Sussex for there not to be a repeat as Nottinghamshire look to consolidate their start with a third win in three. Two wickets for James Pattinson, in what will now be, at least for the time being, his final Championship match for Nottinghamshire, and one for Broad left them 11 for 3 at stumps.

Aston Villa Could Swoop For Explosive £52m-Rated Winger

Aston Villa are being strongly linked with Juventus winger Federico Chiesa as the Italian looks to be nearing the exit door in Turin.

Is Chiesa joining Aston Villa?

After enduring an injury-hit couple of seasons at Juventus, Federico Chiesa could be ready to call time on his career with I Bianconeri. There is a feeling that the attacker's fitness issues have made it impossible for him to fulfil the potential he arrived with from Fiorentina in 2020.

According to some sources, Chiesa has fallen out with Juventus boss Max Allegri and is now looking for a possible escape from the Allianz Stadium in the transfer window, with a host of top clubs seeking his signature.

According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Aston Villa are "ones to watch" in the race for the 25-year-old's services, suggesting that the club have even made contact with Juventus for the player.

Initially speaking about Newcastle United's links with Chiesa, Jacobs told Steve Wraith: "I think that it's probably more likely at this stage that Aston Villa are the ones to watch because they are pushing a little bit more aggressively than Newcastle at this point."

He later added: "I think Villa have already either made a verbal offer, or at least intimated the direction they want to travel and basically had that deal turned away at this point."

Jacobs suggests that Villa were quickly turned away initially, but only because they did not meet Juventus' valuation of the player.

It is believed that Juventus would expect approximately £52m to part ways with the 41-cap international, with the likes of Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain all considered to have an interest in the forward. Aston Villa may have to move quickly to put themselves at the front of that prestigious queue.

Is Chiesa good enough for the Premier League?

When Chiesa first arrived in Turin from Florence, initially on a two-year loan deal, there was a huge expectation that he would quickly become a superstar. This expectation was undoubtedly made bigger by the fact that the winger is son of Serie A stalwart Enrico Chiesa.

The Italian – who has been hailed a "wizard" – had racked up 59 combined goals and assists after breaking into Fiorentina's team at 19-years-old but his move to Juventus was derailed by injury. The winger missed almost an entire year with a cruciate ligament problem that massively hindered his natural progression.

However, when compared to attacking midfielders and wingers in Europe's top five leagues, the Champions League and the Europa League over the past year, it is obvious why Chiesa is still highly sought after.

Mainly appearing on the left-wing, Chiesa ranks in the top 4% for assists per 90 (0.42), the top 15% for progressive carries per 90 (4.52) and the top 12% for crosses into the penalty area per 90 (0.57). Chiesa is a direct runner and a very creative individual who loves taking shots, even if his goal tally and shot accuracy are not tremendous.

He also puts in a lot of tackles per 90, mostly in the attacking third, showing his willingness to press – something that is crucial in the Premier League.

If he can stay fit, there is no doubt that Chiesa is an incredible talent who could make a host of top English clubs better.

Arafat Sunny in police custody

Bangladesh spinner Arafat Sunny is in police custody after a complaint was filed against him under the country’s Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Act at Mohammadpur Police Station on January 5.”He [Sunny] is in custody and the police are supposed to take him to court today,” BCB’s media committee chairman Jalal Yunus told ESPNcricinfo on Sunday, January 22.According to , the deputy commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (Tejgaon Division) Biplob Kumar Sarker said a request would be made in court to hold Sunny for five days.Sunny has played 16 ODIs and 10 T20Is for Bangladesh since his debut in 2014; his last appearance was in the World T20 in India in March 2016. Sunny was reported for a suspect action in that tournament, which was later found to be illegal. He was cleared to resume bowling in September 2016, but was once again reported during the BPL in November that year.

ICC charges du Plessis over alleged ball tampering

Faf du Plessis, South Africa’s stand-in captain, could be suspended for a Test match after being charged by the ICC over an alleged ball-tampering offence.Du Plessis has pleaded not guilty and is seeking legal advice to further contest the charge. A hearing before match referee Andy Pycroft will be held, but a date for the hearing has not yet been set by the ICC.The ICC confirmed in a statement on Friday that du Plessis had been charged for breaching Article 2.2.9 of the ICC Code of Conduct, which relates to “changing the condition of the ball”.The ICC statement said: “The alleged incident happened on Tuesday morning when TV footage appeared to show du Plessis applying saliva and residue from a mint or sweet, an artificial substance, to the ball in an attempt to change its condition.”Level 2 breaches of the Code of Conduct carry a penalty of a fine of 50-100% of the match fee and/or up to two suspension points, and three or four demerit points. Two suspension points equates to one Test match. The charge has been laid by ICC chief executive David Richardson. Cricket Australia did not make a complaint about the incident.
