A lot was expected of Moise Kean by his manager when he arrived at Goodison Park but he has so far failed to deliver, and Everton have suffered as a result.

With the likes of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Cenk Tosun and Oumar Niasse failing to deliver on the goal front for Marco Silva last term, it was a key aim of his to bring in a goalscorer over the summer.

It is a setback, therefore, that Kean has so far failed to make an impact.

The problem is as such that Silva has been unable to decide on his main striker, but so far the former Juventus man has been unable to displace Calvert-Lewin, despite his disappointing return of only two league goals scored.

Everton’s goal return is likely an area of key concern for Silva, as the Toffees have just six goals in seven league games, and without a regular goalscorer in their side it is unlikely they will be able to compete with their top-six rivals, and the strikers they possess.

Although young and a possible player for the future, his stats from WhoScored underline the fact that he has so far failed to adjust to life in the Premier League.

He may prove to be an asset for his club but right now it seems like a mistake to have brought in a player who had made only 19 senior starts prior to his £27.5m move.

Not only has he failed to find the back of the net yet, but in truth he hasn’t looked close to scoring – achieving an average of just 1.3 shots per game.

Equally worrying is his involvement in matches, which is often scarce. His role as an impact sub is also negligible, coming on in matches against Bournemouth and Manchester City but managing a combined total of just 18 touches from his 37 minutes on the pitch.

His role in the squad is still unknown, therefore, and until he gels with his teammates it is likely that he won’t have a starting role, so Silva may instead have to rely on Calvert-Lewin.

An average of 5.9 passes per game also underlines his lack of involvement, whilst suggesting that he is not yet up to the speed of the Premier League, as he doesn’t offer goals or link-up in attack.

As a result, it is little surprise that he has often found himself on the bench, and until he makes adjustments it is unlikely he will score the goals needed for Everton to fulfil their top-six aims this season.

وحسب صحيفة “جازيتا ديلو سبورت” الإيطالية، فإن أجويرو يقترب بشكل كبير من مغادرة مانشستر سيتي نهاية الموسم الحالي.

وأوضحت أن العلاقة في الفترة الحالية بين أجويرو وجوارديولا يشوبها التوتر بشكل ملحوظ.

وأفادت أن علاقة أجويرو مع مدرب مانشستر سيتي قد تراجعت بشكل كبير، وهو ما يقرب رحيله من النادي الإنجليزي.

وأشارت إلى أن أجويرو لن يجد صعوبة في إيجاد وجهته المقبلة، حيث يتواجد بالفعل على رادار العديد من الأندية مثل برشلونة ويوفنتوس وإنتر ميلان.

Unfortunately for Rangers, they suffered a bit of a social media gaffe this week, as Steven Gerrard’s out of context press conference quote went viral.

“We can hurt Young Boys.â€

Without knowing the context behind it, you could be forgiven for thinking Gerrard had arranged for his team to go around Glasgow beating people up as a team-bonding exercise.

Fortunately, that isn’t the case, or at least we hope not.

Gerrard was, of course, talking about his team’s Europa League clash with the Swiss outfit Young Boys.

It’s nothing more than an unfortunate misunderstanding, but thatÂdidn’t stop the tweet from getting over 20,000 likes and more than 6,000 retweets

Loads of Tottenham Hotspur fans on Twitter are feeling upbeat following a report in The Daily Star saying manager Mauricio Pochettino is ready to take drastic action during the January transfer window.

It may only be October, but Spurs have already been knocked out of the Carabao Cup, have won just three of their opening eight Premier League fixtures to lie 13 points behind leaders Liverpool in the table, and have been beaten 7-2 at their own ground by Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

The Argentine has some hard work to do to change their fortunes around, with The Daily Star suggesting that he is ready to move a number of players on in the New Year, as well as targeting Nice right-back Youcef Atal and Juventus attacker Paulo Dybala as he looks to strengthen his attacking options.

Meanwhile, the report says that Eric Dier, Victor Wanyama, Serge Aurier and Christian Eriksen are the Spurs players at risk of getting the boot in the next window.

Tottenham supporters have been quick to have their say on The Daily Star’s claim, and it appears that many are feeling positive about it.

صاحب الـ30 عامًا لا يحظى بالاهتمام أيضًا في يوفنتوس، والنادي الإيطالي يريد التعاقد مع لاعبين جدد، خاصة مع إصابات اللاعب البرازيلي التي أبعدته عن المشاركة كثيرًا خلال المواسم الثلاثة التي قضاها في إيطاليا.

وأوضحت: “لا يوجد أي مؤشر واضح حتى الآن على أنّ محمد صلاح سيضغط من أجل الرحيل، ولكن في نفس الوقت لا يوجد ما يُشير إلى أنّ النادي سيعرض عليه عقد جديد”.

وتابعت: “قد يتطلع ليفربول إلى تأجيل القرار بشأن مستقبل صلاح لعام آخر، لكن سيكون أمامه 12 شهرًا في عقده، وقد يكون حصول هداف الفريق على عقد جديد هو أفضل حل لجميع الأطراف، ما سيسمح للنادي بحماية نجمه”.

واختتمت الشبكة تقريرها قائلة: “من المتوقع أن يرفض كلوب الحديث عن رحيل صلاح، لكن سيقاتل بلا شك لإبقائه في ليفربول”.

Some Crystal Palace fans have taken to Twitter to react after Declan Rice defended Wilfried Zaha from spitting allegations while speaking to The Mirror.Zaha was forced to take to his Instagram to dispute claims that he had spat at Rice in the Eagles’ 2-1 win over West Ham in September, after he was barged off the ball by the West Ham academy graduate.

In truth, it simply looks as if the Ivorian spits at the floor innocently while disputing a refereeing decision, with no intention to aim it at Rice – the England international was a number of yards away from Zaha at the time, anyway.

Rice said: “Some fans said Wilfried spat at me but I didn’t see anything. I have seen clips of it and it looks like he just he just spat on the floor, so I agree with Zaha that nothing happened. He really didn’t do anything.â€

A few Palace supporters below respect the 20-year-old’s decision to come out and defend a fellow professional, while a couple of others took the opportunity to use Rice’s quotes as reason to keep the West Ham faithful quiet.

With the international break set to come to an end, all attention is moving to club matters once again.

Gaetano Berardi was offered a reprieve after his red card against Millwall before the international break but he is set to be given another chance to prove himself as a feasible centre-back option whilst captain Liam Cooper recovers from his injury.

In fact, this is possibly one of the last chances he has to secure a new contract before it ends next summer.

Whilst there are reports that the club are yet to open negotiations with the Swiss defender, offering a new contract would be a really precarious move by the club.

His performances in a white shirt have raised a few questions, most notably from former Leeds United man Noel Whelan. Speaking to Football Insider recently, he said the following about the error-prone defender.

“We’ve got Liam Cooper out injured and after Berardi’s red card against Millwall was rescinded, he has the opportunity to go out there and put in some performances to earn that new contract from Leeds United as he can prove to the club that he is a player they need. To be quite honest, I don’t think he’d be good enough to be a regular for the first-team in the Premier League.”

Whelan might be talking about his worth, or lack thereof when it comes to the Premier League, it would be somewhat worrying if Leeds would be willing to stick with as many players from the current set-up as possible.

As discussed previously on FFC with Pablo Hernandez, a new contract for Berardi would almost seem as if they are doing it in preparation for not getting promoted this season.

If they felt like they were going to be promoted, surely they’d want to invest in the kind of players that can make a difference in that division rather than someone who is getting on in terms of age.

After all, the Swiss has been under fire from supporters too so clearly isn’t well-liked at Elland Road.

Given that Berardi’s style can only be described as a liability based off his disciplinary record, even before the red card against Millwall was rescinded, a new contract for him would smack of a lack of ambition and unwillingness to change from Marcelo Bielsa, and should not happen.

موقع “Fichajes” الإسباني، أكد بأن لابورتا عند عودته إلى برشلونة، وضع خطة للتخلص من عدد من اللاعبين في الفريق، كان أبرزهم فيليب كوتينيو، وذلك بسبب راتبه المرتفع وعدم استعادة مستواه الذي كان عليه في ليفربول.

وأشار إلى أن فكرة لابورتا الأولية هي أن كوتينيو بعد العودة من الإصابة يمكن أن يحصل على بعض الدقائق في مباريات الدوري، على أمل أن يثير الاهتمام أكثر في الدوري الإنجليزي.

وقال إن توتنهام أبرز المهتمين بضم كوتينيو الآن في إنجلترا، بعد انسحاب آرسنال من السباق، والتركيز على ضم النرويجي مارتن أوديجارد المعار من ريال مدريد.

كوتينيو ينتهي عقده في 2023، ويسعى برشلونة لرحيله الصيف المقبل من أجل الاستفادة المادية، قبل اقتراب العقد من نهايته.
