Sadio Mane was named Liverpool’s Player of the Month for March.

The 26-year-old scored five times in five appearances last month, including a brace against Bayern Munich in the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final.

In all, he has managed 20 goals in 39 appearances for the Reds this season.

Much of the focus was on Mohamed Salah last term, but Mane has been Liverpool’s go-to player for goals and performances over the last few weeks.

Next up for the Reds is a trip to Southampton on Friday night, where they will be looking for the win to take them back to the top of the Premier League table.

And the Senegal international will be keen to continue his excellent form against his former club.

ووضح ريو وجهة نظره في تصريحات لشبكة “بي تي سبورتس” البريطانية، وقال: “ماني هو المفضل بالنسبة لي في خط ليفربول الهجومي، أحبه كثيرًا”.

وأتم تصريحاته: “أعتقد أنه الأصعب لمواجهته من بين هذا الثلاثي، من حيث الأسلوب فهو يشكل خطورة كبيرة على المنافسين، حركته، سرعته وتمريراته الحاسمة كما لديه القدرة على إنهاء الهجمات بالشكل المطلوب”.

Fernando Llorente is expected to be available for Tottenham Hotspur’s Champions League clash with Manchester City on Tuesday night.

Llorente was not included against Crystal Palace last week due to a concussion, but has returned to training ahead of the quarter-final first leg with City.

The Spaniard will, of course, not be in the starting XI against the Citizens. Well, not unless Harry Kane is a late withdrawal.

However, the Tottenham fans feel that Llorente might be able to have a say against City at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

It has been another tough campaign for the 34-year-old, but he has contributed seven goals in all competitions for Spurs this term, including one in the Champions League.

And the news that he has returned to training ahead of the all-English tie has been welcomed by the Tottenham fans on social media.

Liverpool fans may be feeling rather anxious ahead of tomorrow’s Premier League clash with Chelsea at Anfield, with memories of Steven Gerrard’s slip still in the minds of supporters.

The Reds are a completely different side to the one that played the Blues five years ago, so Jurgen Klopp will be praying that his side can keep the pressure on Manchester City.

Although, one thing that has been on supporters’ minds recently is James Milner’s future, as his contract is set to expire in the summer transfer window and he hasn’t been at this best this season.

Indeed, the Englishman is now 33-years-old and his age has been clear to see on the field at times this season, with his pace letting him down when he operates at full-back for the Reds. But, it’s safe to say that his main position has been in the middle of midfield, so finding a replacement that can operate in that position will be key.

Interestingly, it appears as if the Reds already have the perfect replacement at their disposal in the form of Curtis Jones, who currently plays for the Under-23 side.

Jones is arguably one of the most promising players at the club at this moment in time and he’s already managed to make an FA Cup appearance, which came against Wolverhampton Wanderers. He operates in the middle of midfield and he’s produced six goals and two assists this season, so it’s clear to see he can offer something in the final third.

The youngster would be the perfect replacement for Milner as he has the ability to pick defence-splitting passes, he can drive past players with his pace and he has the dribbling ability to wriggle his way out of tight situations. Indeed, the best thing about bringing in Jones as his replacement would be that he can offer something different in the final third, which has been a big issue for the Reds this season as they’ve lacked creativity.

Liverpool fans haven’t seen much of him and Premier League teams won’t know what to expect from him, so he could be a secret weapon next season for the Reds.

Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to defend Mohamed Salah after he came in for criticism after going down softly under pressure from Sean Morrison, which led to Martin Atkinson awarding a penalty on Sunday.

The Cardiff centre-back had his hands all over the Egypt international, and held on long enough for Salah to hit the deck – the only thing that has led to some calling it a ‘dive’ is the fact that he appeared to fall unnaturally.

However, Morrison was naive and foolish to grab hold of such a dangerous player for so long, and should have been more clever in dealing with the 26-year-old; you simply can’t manhandle a player in the box like that in the Premier League and give the referee a decision to make.

It is not the first time that Salah has come under fire for going down easily this season and his tendency to fall to ground has become a major talking point for football supporters.

Every Arsenal fan knew the result was coming, but the performance was on a whole new level of embarrassing.

The 3-0 defeat to Leicester City marked yet another low point in Arsenal’s season, a game in which the Gunners had their lowest percentage of possession ever in a Premier League match and conceded the most shots on target in a single game out of any team in the division this season.

Arsenal are yet again bottling a top-four finish, which is impressive when the Gunners almost looked certain to claim a Champions League spot in the table with other teams competing for those illustrious positions slipping up as the north London side kept on winning, but things aren’t that simple in football.

Arsenal have slipped to fifth in the table two weeks since their away win against Watford, and although the club are still in the race for top-four with teams around them also failing to pick up wins in the remaining fixtures, you can’t help but think the Gunners won’t get over the finish line.

With two games remaining in the league in the form of Brighton at home and Burnley away, Unai Emery knows that six points from six is what the club will need to qualify for the Champions League, and if the Spaniard can execute that whilst also having more luck from other teams slipping up, it would be a masterstroke from the Gunners boss.

Not many Arsenal fans would have expected the team to be two points fourth place with two games remaining in the league, but if you were to tell them that at the start of the season they would take that position in a heartbeat, and Emery now needs to do what must be done to return the club back to the Champions League.

When Michael Hector arrived at Hillsborough last summer on a season-long deal from Chelsea, you wouldn’t have blamed any Sheffield Wednesday supporter if for being a tad concerned about his suitability for the Championship.

Despite only being 26-years-old, the defender has played for a remarkable total of 17 clubs since making his senior debut in 2009 with this lack of stability clearly hampering his development.

However, if his performances throughout the 2018/19 campaign are anything to go by, it seems as if Hector has finally found a place which could allow his career to thrive after so many setbacks in recent years.

After establishing himself as a mainstay in the Owls’ starting eleven at the start of the season, the Jamaican international has gone from strength to strength since the appointment of Steve Bruce in January as he has delivered a number of outstanding defensive displays in recent months.

Having been rewarded for his outstanding levels of consistency earlier this week by being named the club’s Player of the Year (via the Star), it is clear that Hector is enjoying his spell in South Yorkshire and so Wednesday should do everything they can to sign him on a permanent deal in the summer.

With the defender’s current contract at Stamford Bridge set to expire in 2020 (via BBC Sport), he may be available on a cut-price deal when the transfer window opens in July and so it is imperative that if Bruce decides to swoop, he does it early to avoid any potential bidding wars.

For the sake of his own career, a move away from the Blues could be highly beneficial for Hector as the £2.7m-rated ace (via Transfermarkt) is extremely unlikely to force himself into Maurizio Sarri’s plans next season when you consider that the likes of Antonio Rudiger, David Luiz and Andreas Christensen are all ahead of him in the pecking order.
