كشف عدلي القيعي رئيس شركة كرة القدم بالنادي الأهلي، عن رأيه في البرتغالي روي فيتوريا، المدير الفني لمنتخب مصر، والمدرب الأنسب لخلافته حال الاستقرار على رحيله.

وقال القيعي في تصريحات له عبر قناة “DMC”: “رأيي في إخفاق منتخب مصر أنه أحيانًا من كثرة حبك في شيء تتغاضى عن أمور واضحة، كيف نريد أن نحصل على البطولة، لعبنا وديًا أمام الجزائر بشكل قوي، لكن واضح إن الجزائر ليست في أفضل حال، بدليل خروجها من البطولة مبكرًا”.

Manchester City look like they may have to fend off interest from Bayern Munich to keep Julian Alvarez at the club this summer, according to Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg.

The striker only moved to the Etihad Stadium during the last summer transfer window but has already made quite the impression at the Premier League side. The forward hasn't been a first-team regular, but when called upon by Pep Guardiola, he has often produced the goods in front of goal.

Indeed, from just 12 starts in the league, the player has managed nine goals ahead of their midweek clash with Brighton & Hove Albion. With just under 15 matches' worth of game time, it means he has an average of 0.60 goals per 90.

The attacker has shown previously that he can deal with limited appearances and still produce the goods. Before the 23-year-old moved to England, he plied his trade with River Plate in Argentina for example and had just 17 starts in 2021. However, he still managed to get on the scoresheet 18 times, along with six assists. That led to a superb average of 1.36 goals or assists per 90.

Continuing to impress despite being more of a second-string option with City, it has now led to interest from elsewhere, according to Plettenberg. The Sky Sports journalist reports that Bayern have now put Alvarez on their wanted list and that the side have already "inquired" about the player in terms of whether he will be available for transfer.

He wrote: "Yes, he’s on the list of #FCBayern confirmed! He’s another option next to Kolo Muani. Bayern has inquired about him as he’s not a regular starter behind #Haaland. His future at #MCFC is uncertain despite of his contract until 2028."

What's the latest on Leeds' interest in Scott Parker?

According to The Telegraph, the Yorkshire giants are eyeing up the potential appointment of former AFC Bournemouth boss Scott Parker.

As per the report, the Whites are now putting together a thorough recruitment process to find a manager who can bring success back to the club and improve performances on the pitch, with Parker named as one of three candidates who are being looked at currently.

The club find themselves in an extremely vulnerable position with no sporting director, no manager and a takeover reportedly in the works, so there is plenty of work that must be done over the summer to reinstate some stability ahead of their Championship campaign.

Burnley's instant bounce back to Premier League football will give hope to the Elland Road faithful amidst the uncertainty behind the scenes and securing a manager who has the experience of dominating the second tier would be massively advantageous to boost their chances of success.

As a result, the appointment of Parker could be a great opportunity to not only bring a manager who has a 100% success rate in promoting his two Championship sides to the top flight, but an attacking-minded tactician who can significantly improve their attacking prowess.

One of Leeds' biggest issues in the latter stages of their campaign was their inability to kill games when it mattered most, going nine games without a win before being relegated on the final day.

Indeed, the squad boasts a wide range of attacking talent with Rodrigo, Jack Harrison, Wilfried Gnonto, Crysencio Summerville and Luis Sinisterra, but finding the key to unlocking their potential and consistency in front of goal failed miserably for Allardyce.

Both the Cherries and the Cottagers thrived from an attacking perspective under the supervision of Parker in the Championship with the Cherries promoted automatically after scoring a whopping 74 goals, whilst he guided Fulham back to the top flight by beating Brentford 2-1 in the 2020 playoffs at Wembley.

Whilst the 42-year-old – hailed for his "brilliant" job at Bournemouth by West Ham boss David Moyes – has an impressive EFL record, there is no denying that he was financially backed too, so if the 49ers could push through a takeover and provide the former England international with a healthy budget it would be a no-brainer to snap up his services this summer.

With that being said, Parker's poor record in the top flight should be the least of Leeds' concerns as appointing a manager who has the clear experience to lead teams to promotion is incredibly desirable at this moment in time and should be the immediate priority for the club's hierarchy.

Teams are quite aware of this when they come to India, but once one turns sharply away and another goes straight on – sometimes with even the bowler not knowing how – the shadows of close-in fielders and the ferocious appeals can all get to you. The heat and the noise can leave you delirious; even those who have played on these pitches all their lives can struggle. New Zealand have only had four training sessions and a three-day warm-up game, at a completely different venue.Adapting, quick thinking, communication, competitiveness and taking matches deep would be key, according to New Zealand’s captain and coach. “You certainly don’t want to jump at shadows,” Williamson said when asked if all the talk around the pitches can cloud the team’s thinking. “You do want to go into the matches as educated as you can be to try and apply your plans. That’s where it is important for experience among players to come into it. Bowlers, batters to adjust quickly. You do learn a lot in the first hour of a Test match. They are suited to spin bowling so we are hoping they can play a big part in the series.”Williamson hoped to learn from the Indian batsmen and said New Zealand would not be relying on the sweep as their only option to upset spinners. “It’s up to the individuals, some guys sweep more than the others,” he said. “Another thing is that you tend to come to an overseas tour and often the overseas players are so used to their own conditions that you can learn a lot off them [opposition]. And I suppose sweeping isn’t a big part of the Indian players’ batting. They have got great footwork, they get forward, they get back, they come down the wicket. So you can learn a lot from how they play spin but at the end of the day it’s up to individual players.”From a bowling point of view, New Zealand have Ish Sodhi’s legspin, Mitchell Santner’s left-arm spin and Mark Craig’s offspin to choose from. Provided they do well, Williamson felt the Kanpur surface was such that India could certainly be put under pressure. “They have played in these tough conditions for a while,” he said. “I suppose they are tough for both teams, though. It’s important we adapt quickly and if we do and play positively then it’s one of those things that we have to wait and see how it unfolds, because some of the wickets that have been prepared in the recent series have certainly been tough for both the sides.”Reverse swing was the other weapon New Zealand were relying on. “Coming into it, certainly watching previous series here, without much grass on the block, obviously the ball I suppose deteriorates quite quickly and reverse swing and spin become factors,” Williamson said. “So we will be expecting it to reverse, who knows when, but something that both teams I am sure will be looking at.
