Arsenal continued their imperious form yet again yesterday, with a comprehensive win over Leeds United. It marked yet another huge stride towards Premier League glory, continuing to keep Manchester City at arms length after the fine victory of their own against Liverpool.

With the gap still at eight points, the Gunners must rely on maintaining performances like these, which have seen them blow away plenty of opposition. It marked their seventh straight league victory, done so in emphatic style.

Whilst much of the praise might fall upon the attackers, for once again blowing away the Whites' defence with some of the best football they had played all season, it marked yet another comfortable game for their back four too.

People rushed to laud Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus, and rightly so, but their exploits are only propped up by the rigid solidity of those behind them.

It was expected that the loss of William Saliba could derail this, yet yesterday's win only served to continue the resurgence of Rob Holding. Arguably, he was once again Mikel Arteta's true hero.

Starting just his second league match of the campaign, the 27-year-old strolled through the match with purpose and poise. This earned him a Sofascore rating of 7.0, propped up predominantly by his fine defensive work.

Boasting four clearances, one block and one tackle, the Stalybridge-born stalwart was a rock at the back alongside Gabriel Magalhães. He even won an impressive 83% of the six duels he competed in too, marking a resolute display that limited the opposition throughout, via Sofascore.

Before the game, the former Bolton Wanderers ace had been urged to thrive in the absence of his 22-year-old teammate, with journalist Simon Collings claiming: "He's an incredibly popular figure at club. Chance now for him to lead on the pitch as well as off it." It is fair to say that Holding did in fact take that chance.

Not only was he strong in the tackle, but his work in progressing the play also merits further plaudits. The £40k-per-week star also enjoyed 76 touches of the ball, maintaining an 84% pass accuracy that also included five accurate long balls, as per Sofascore.

Given how important Saliba also was in this department, it truly is startling to see his English counterpart thrive in such a role with such ease.

Few could have expected Holding to instantly excel, but that is arguably a testament to the environment that Arteta has created at the Emirates. It allows anyone to feel like they can come in and be a star within his team, and this once-forgotten man serves as the perfect example of such a revival.

Journalist Ben Jacobs has boldly predicted that Sven Botman will score a winner for Newcastle United in their final game of the season.

What's the latest on Newcastle and Sven Botman?

The Magpies face a big test over the coming months if they are to secure a top-four finish and qualify for the Champions League.

As things stand, they sit third in the Premier League, with a three-point lead on fifth-placed Tottenham Hotspur, while also having played one fewer game than Spurs.

With that in mind, with nine Newcastle games to play, it's in their hands. Even so, it won't be an easy task and it could come down to the narrowest of margins.

While discussing the run-in on NUFC Matters, Jacobs looked ahead to the final day of the season when NUFC play Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Not only did he predict a 2-1 away win, he also named the potential match-winner, saying (9:57): “For me, that will be Chelsea one, Newcastle two.

"And I've got a sneaky suspicion –which again is a very bizarre thing to say – that it will have a Sven Botman winner in that game.

"I don't know why, I've just got it in my head."

Has Botman scored for NUFC?

The Dutch defender only joined in the summer, signing a five-year deal for a fee in the region of £35m after arriving from Lille.

Since then, the £90k-p/w star has wasted little time in establishing himself as a key part of Eddie Howe's defensive plans. Indeed, Botman has played in all but two Premier League games, losing just twice in that time.

However, what makes Jacobs' prediction even wilder, is the fact that Botman is yet to score for the club across 35 appearances in all competitions.

Seeing as things are pretty tight right now in the race for a Champions League spot, there is every chance Newcastle could go to Chelsea on the final day of the season needing a win to secure qualification.

And so it certainly would be a fantastic moment for the club if Botman was to pop up with a winner that also happened to be his first goal in black and white.

His manager certainly seems to think highly of the 23-year-old. Indeed, on the club's run to the Carabao Cup final, he called Botman "excellent".

After the win over Bournemouth, he told the press: “Sven Botman was excellent tonight – I thought that was his best game for us aerially. He was dominant against their strikers.

"His use of the ball this season has been excellent but he’s also come on a lot in other areas. It was a good night for him – and us."

There are several big names at Glasgow Rangers who are approaching the final few months of their current contracts. Players such as Ryan Jack, Alfredo Morelos and Scott Arfield are among a handful who could leave for free during the summer and give Michael Beale a headache in terms of finding replacements.

The most notable player who could depart for nothing is Ryan Kent and despite the winger not being at his best this term, scoring just three times, he has looked resurgent since Beale arrived in November, registering six goal involvements since the ex-QPR man was instated.

Having spent £7.5m on the winger just four years ago, letting him go without recouping at least some of this fee is a major mistake and sums up the club's transfer policy of late.

Thoughts will surely turn to who can be brought in to take over from him on the left wing. If only Beale had a time machine, as the services of former Gers star Peter Lovenkrands wouldn’t go amiss right about now.

Was Peter Lovenkrands a success at Rangers?

The Danish winger was signed by Dick Advocaat back in 2000 for a fee of £1.3m from Akademisk Boldklub as a relatively unknown quantity but developed into one of the finest players for the club during his six-year stint in Glasgow.

After a tough first season, he began to make a name for himself during the 2001/02 campaign, scoring seven goals in all competitions, including a stunning added-time winner against Celtic in the Scottish Cup final, securing the trophy for the Gers.

Having represented Denmark in the 2002 World Cup, Lovenkrands was crucial in leading the Light Blues to the treble in 2003, with his pace and supreme finishing skills causing havoc for opposition defences across the country.

Another title and League Cup followed in 2004/05 and the forward enjoyed one more season at the Ibrox side before joining Schalke on a free transfer in 2006.

The Dane could operate across the front three with ease, although mainly either as a left-winger or centre forward and his goal-scoring ability would certainly make him an upgrade on Kent at this moment in time as he scored 54 in just six years at Rangers.

His record against Celtic was another reason the Ibrox faithful enamoured him, scoring six goals against them overall, and he is still fondly remembered as a result.

The forward finally got a taste of Premier League action in 2008 with Newcastle United and their former striker, Alan Shearer, claimed Lovenkrands “made a big impression” when he arrived at the club.

There is no doubt Lovenkrands in his pomp would be an excellent component of Beale’s side, using his speed and dribbling ability to power through opposition defences. If only the Englishman could turn back the clock 20 years and replace Kent with the great Dane.

Newcastle United are interested in bringing Manchester United defender Harry Maguire to St James' Park this summer, according to journalist Alex Crook.

What's the latest transfer news involving Harry Maguire?

As per TEAMtalk, Manchester United are set to make Maguire available for transfer this summer, with Newcastle United and West Ham United said to be among the early frontrunners for his signature.

90min have also claimed that the England international is attracting interest from several high-profile Serie A clubs, with Inter Milan, Juventus and AC Milan keen on proposing loan deals with an option to buy.

The 30-year-old is believed to be one of several first-team players that the Old Trafford giants could let leave in the off-season, though it would need to be 'in the right circumstances' to sanction a departure.

Ideally, Manchester United would want to accumulate a transfer fee for Maguire's services, though they may need to be 'flexible' to ensure they meet their Financial Fair Play obligations.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, journalist Crook has said that Newcastle United are keen on bringing the player Paul Pogba called "the beast" to the North East this summer.

Crook said: "Yeah, I think so. It's a question of what sort of money they're going to get for Maguire. He needs to go and play.

"I know there's some interest from Newcastle, West Ham as well.

I think, probably, they would be good moves for him. I think it's best for all concerned that he moves on."

Would Harry Maguire be a good signing for Newcastle United?

Maguire has enjoyed a decent season at Manchester United and has been a fairly reliable presence when called upon, making an average of 2.7 clearances per match in the Premier League, as per WhoScored.

Having been something of an unknown quantity at the time of his move to Glasgow, the 57-year-old has since emerged as a highly-coveted and in-demand coach, having reportedly even been under consideration for the top job at Chelsea of late.

The Greek-Aussie has particularly caught the eye due to the "beautiful attacking football" that he has been able to implement at the Old Firm outfit – as per BT Sport pundit Owen Hargreaves – with that transformative style of play having gone hand in hand with the experienced figure's "exceptional" recruitment record, as hailed by former skipper, Scott Brown.

Postecoglou's astute transfer business began right from the outset with the signing of Kyogo Furuhashi from Vissel Kobe on a £4.6m deal, with the Japan international having been the first addition of the new manager's tenure.

While the striker's capture did appear something of a left-field move at the time as the diminutive ace had never played in European football prior to making the move, the 28-year-old has since gone on to become a real cult figure at Celtic Park, having been "so pivotal" in the club's success of late, as per pundit James McFadden.

The Nara-born sensation has particularly thrived up against the Ibrox outfit throughout his time in Glasgow, having notably bagged a brace in the League Cup final triumph at Hampden Park back in February, as well as another double in the recent derby meeting in the league at Celtic Park, with that 3-2 win effectively sealing the title for the hosts.

Not just a ruthless presence in front of goal, however, the one-time FC Gifu man has particularly impressed due to his ability to terrorise a defence with his clever, sharp movement, with that trait having been hailed as the "best" that Postecoglou has "ever seen".

The dynamic gem has thus become arguably "the best player in Scotland over the last couple of seasons" – according to O'Rourke – having firmly established himself as the real "talisman" in attack for the Bhoys, in the words of former Mirror journalist, Brian McNally.

How much is Kyogo worth now?

Unsurprisingly, however, such rampant form has brought with it unwelcome attention from clubs south of the border, with Football Insider recently reporting that Premier League clubs are believed to be interested in signing the prolific hotshot this summer.

As per the report, Postecoglou and co are now braced for bids of around £15m amid that growing interest in the striker's services, with that rather hefty price tag an indication of just how well-regarded Kyogo is by those outside of the club.

That fee is also noteworthy as it represents a 226% rise in comparison to the £4.6m that was dished out almost two years ago, with Celtic set to rake in a tidy profit if they are to cash in ahead of next season.

That being said, the champions-elect will certainly do all they can to keep hold of a player who now has 49 goals to his name in just 77 games for the club, with the centre-forward's soaring valuation just merely a further indication of Postecoglou's impressive transfer dealings.

Whether Kyogo does stay or go in the near future, it remains the case that the Old Firm giants truly stuck gold with his bold acquisition.
